1. Acceptance

By creating an account and using CompliChef Lite, you agree to these Terms of Service. These terms form a legal contract between you and CompliChef Ltd. If you do not agree, you must not use the app.

2. Description of Service

CompliChef Lite is a digital food safety compliance tool for food businesses in the UK. The app enables you to record temperature logs, hot holding sessions, reheating checks, delivery inspections, cooldown records, probe calibrations, cleaning tasks, checklists, and daily diary entries.

Data Location: Your data is stored on servers in the United Kingdom.

CompliChef Lite is designed to support — not replace — your legal obligations under UK food hygiene law including the Food Safety Act 1990, the Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006, the Food Hygiene (Wales) Regulations 2006, and associated statutory guidance. You remain fully responsible for ensuring your records meet the requirements of your local authority.

3. Account & Security

You must provide accurate and complete information when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account.

You must promptly notify us of any unauthorised use at support@complichef.me.

4. Permitted Use

CompliChef Lite is licensed for your own internal business compliance use only. You must not:

Use the service for unlawful purposes or in violation of any regulations
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
Reverse-engineer or decompile the app
Resell or sublicense access to the service
Use the service to store data for third-party businesses without authorisation
Interfere with or disrupt the service or connected servers

5. Compliance Responsibility

CompliChef Lite is a record-keeping tool. We make no warranty that use of the app alone will ensure full compliance with all applicable food safety legislation. You are solely responsible for:

The accuracy and completeness of all records entered
Ensuring records satisfy your local authority's requirements
Maintaining any additional records required by law
Training staff on correct use of temperature probes and recording procedures
Taking appropriate corrective action when failures are identified

Storing a record in CompliChef Lite does not itself constitute legal compliance.

6. Intellectual Property

CompliChef Lite and all its components are the intellectual property of CompliChef. Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for the purposes described herein.

You retain ownership of all compliance data you enter. By using the service you grant us a limited licence to store and process that data solely to provide the service.

7. Availability & Support

We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Offline functionality ensures you can continue recording data during connectivity outages. Support is provided via support@complichef.me — we aim to respond within 2 business days.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" without warranty. We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any matter that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time via the App Store; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these terms.

Upon termination you may request a data export within 30 days. After this period your data will be handled per our Privacy Policy.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Subscriptions & In-App Purchases

Plan

Solo Plan — All compliance logging features, CompliClub rewards, PDF reporting. Available as an annual subscription at £79.99/year (varies by region). Current pricing is shown in your local currency at the point of purchase in the App Store.

Billing & Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions are billed annually in advance via Apple. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends, at the rate confirmed at original purchase.

Consumer Rights (UK)

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other mandatory UK consumer protection law.

Make changes or cancel

Refunds & Cancellation

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. CompliChef cannot process refunds directly.

Family Sharing

CompliChef Lite subscriptions are not compatible with Apple Family Sharing. Each business must have its own subscription.
