1. Acceptance

By creating an account and using CompliChef Lite, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to be bound by these terms, do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

CompliChef Lite is a digital food safety compliance tool for food businesses in the USA. The app enables you to record temperature logs, hot holding sessions, reheating checks, delivery inspections, cooldown records, probe calibrations, cleaning tasks, checklists, and daily diary entries.

Data Location: Your data is stored on servers in the United Kingdom.

CompliChef Lite is designed to assist you in compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), FDA regulations (21 CFR Part 11 for electronic records), and state/local health department requirements. However, CompliChef Lite is a tool to support compliance — not a guarantee of compliance. You remain fully responsible for:

You must provide accurate and complete information when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account.

CompliChef Lite is a record-keeping tool. We make no warranty that use of the app alone will ensure full compliance with all applicable food safety legislation. You are solely responsible for:

Storing a record in CompliChef Lite does not itself constitute legal compliance.

6. Intellectual Property

CompliChef Lite and all its components are the intellectual property of CompliChef. Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for the purposes described herein.

You retain ownership of all compliance data you enter. By using the service you grant us a limited licence to store and process that data solely to provide the service.

7. Availability & Support

We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Offline functionality ensures you can continue recording data during connectivity outages. Support is provided via support@complichef.me — we aim to respond within 2 business days.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" without warranty. We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any matter that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time via the App Store; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these terms.

Upon termination you may request a data export within 30 days. After this period your data will be handled per our Privacy Policy.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [Your State — suggest Delaware or California for neutrality], without regard to conflicts of law principles. You agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts located in that state for resolution of disputes.

For California residents: The Consumer Legal Remedies Act and Consumer Review Fairness Act provide certain rights and protections.


Subscriptions & In-App Purchases

Plan

Solo Plan — All compliance logging features, CompliClub rewards, PDF reporting. Available as an annual subscription at $99.99/year (subject to App Store currency conversion). Pricing shown at time of purchase.

Billing & Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel within the App Store settings at least 24 hours before renewal. Charges are made in advance for the renewal term.

Cancellation Policies

You may cancel anytime via the App Store. No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods except as required by law (see Apple's refund policies).


Common Subscription Management

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Tap your Apple ID at the top
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Select CompliChef Lite
  5. Make changes or cancel

Refunds & Cancellation

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. CompliChef cannot process refunds directly.

Family Sharing

CompliChef Lite subscriptions are not compatible with Apple Family Sharing. Each business must have its own subscription.
